Decaf or Detox
Okay.. So this is day one of no caffeine. I mean it. For real. I think it's time to do a detox and get my energy back. Last night at MTC ( Ministry Training Class) there was a word from someone that talked about the things we look to instead of God ( idols) and I felt conviction in my heart about coffee for some reason. If I truly believe HE is my source, then I need to live it out and not look to Crystal Light packets of Strawberry flavored water ( SO yummy) or my favorite Starbucks treat to give me the "boost" I feel I need. It may sound a bit extreme, but I would rather be obedient and pray into this and see what I need to learn from it, than rebel and ignore it. He promises to give us rest and I am learning to enjoy the rest He gives me now more than ever. The more I step out in ministry things, the more I can feel Him teaching me to slow down and take more time to be with Him. I am learning it's okay to say no to things that I don't feel I need to do.
So for me at the moment, it's caffeine. What about you? For some it's TV or music, being online, work or looking to others for advice before we consult our Maker about our concerns.
The with drawl headache is setting in... so I am press through it with His strength. I am weak- but He is strong.
Last night during worship practice, I got to sing the new song of repentance to some of the people there. Feedback was positive. I am going to continue to pray over it. This song came so quickly- the only way to describe it is like a "download" from God. It's His song- I just got the blessing of being the one to hear it in that moment.
