Weekend Away
What a blessing to get away from the busyness of the everyday. We booked a private cottage and what an amazing find. The Cottage on Westcott Bay is like the ones in my dreams. The waterview is beautiful and the private setting is just what we needed. We took the ferry over and what an enjoyable ride. The views of the islands were great and there's nothing better than fresh sea air in your face. Deep breath in and out. Ahh. As soon as we arrived we found a local lavender farm store featuring products I had never heard of before like Lavender Lemon Pepper, Lavender Coconut Cookies and lavender wreaths, lotion, antiseptic, all natural cleaning supplies, candles and more. They invited us to visit their lavender farm, so we got a map and went for a drive. What a fabulous island. Rolling hills, mountains, rocky plains and cliffs and water views that are breathtaking. We arrived at the lavender farm and took another deep breath in. Oh- what an amazing place to visit. The scent was divine. I hope I can find time to grown my own lavender in the side yard- there's something so soothing about it's aroma. We found the whale watching park ( it's not the season to see whales) so we enjoyed the view of the lighthouse. Quite timely considering the podcast sermon we listened to on Sunday for our our private church time. Lots of naps, walks on the dock and inspiration came for so many songs. I am so glad we took the time to get away.
