Time Away
Just got back from a fabulous getaway. This time of year, things are a bit slower in real estate, so I can leave town with the help of a great partner who covers my business while I am away. Mom planned a trip for us- just Mom, me and my sister Tiffany. What a treat to be together for 5 days in a row. It was a long time to be away from Oscar and the kids, but it was also such a treat to have time to be with my family. When you grow up, you find it hard to imagine your life any different than what your reality is at the time- for me it was the 4 of us- Dad, Mom, Tiff and myself. We were blessed to take many family vacations growing up but this was the first ever grown adult trip with my mom and Tiff. We enjoyed, great food, fabulous conversation and spectacular sites! Oscar surprised me by meeting us at the airport on Wed evening. It was a nice treat. We all went out for dinner to celebrate our 9 year anniversary. When we arrived home I was shocked to find a clean house, laundry done and put away, new table lamps for our bedroom, the coolest candles, fresh pillows and the office completely organized and cleaned as well as our closet. It was great to be back in my own bed too!
On Thursday I was able to attend the songwriters bootcamp conference. It was a great opportunity to spend the day with the big names in Christian music and I was thankful for the chance to have my song critiqued by Kathryn Scott, Rick Cua and Ed Kerr. They had some great "nuggets" of advice and feedback for the song I submitted. It was such cool experience to be surrounded by other like minded worshipers. I took lots of notes, learned so much and met some great new friends! I know today was a memorable day for the work the Lord is doing in my heart. I am now looking forward to being a home body for the next few weeks and enjoying my family.
