Road trip to Oregon

Day # 1
We got up this morning and hit the road. The kids did great and we all got a kick out of the Astoria bridge. It was very long and on the water. Seaside is beautiful! The sun is shining and we enjoyed the view from the promenade. The downtown shops were cute and the kids had fun at the arcade and on the carousel. The kids are down at the pool right now and I am enjoying the quiet hotel suite. ( which by the way- this is the first time we've had a separate room in a hotel. We arrived and the kids got a kick out of the weird bathroom set up. Check out the crazy pictures. There are bifold doors from the sitting room into the shower/soaker tub area) thank goodness there's a bathroom fan! hhha. Interesting.....

When Bella saw the bathtub, she exclaimed- Mom that's the biggest tub I've EVER seen! Can we go swimming in it? So we got our swim suits on and she pretended to the lifeguard and I did "laps" in the soaker tub. I will include a pic to prove how funny the set up of this tub was in the room.
Day #2
I got to sleep in!! What an AMAZING treat for this mommy! Oscar got a great deal on a junior suite( a room with a separate bedroom for us) Let me just say- it's worth the extra little $ to have a bit of quiet at nighttime and in the morning for that matter... because Oscar got up with the kids took them downstairs for breakfast and I got to sleep in until almost 930am. It felt great! We decided to hit the road and head south to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. It's quite a destination. The kids loved seeing how cheese is made, processed but and shipped. We had a nice lunch and ice cream for dessert of course. On our drive back up the coast, we drove through Cannon Beach. I would love to go back and visit without kids someday- it looked very neat with a bunch of little galleries and shops.

When we arrived back in Seaside, we went and fed the seals at the aquarium. Bella had no fear picking up the dead fish to throw at the seals! Antonio got a kick out of the 40 lbs + lobster and the octopus.

The beach was beautiful. The weather was perfect... we were able to go out and dig a big hole in the sand and run up and down the beach after the waves. Not a drop of rain all weekend was such a blessing especially for an area that gets on average of 90 inches of rain a year! I thought I had it bad! ha.
Oh- I almost forgot! We went to the family fun center and they had bumper cars. Bella was tall enough to ride on all by herself, so she got a purple bumper car and went to town! It was a blast. All 4 of us were able to play and she is still talking about it.

We enjoyed the hotel pool and hot tub and had a great time together. The drive home was nice and it felt good to be together, without any interruptions. I am so glad we took the time to get away. The coastline was magnificent. We have such an amazing Creator. I can't help but sing to Him when I am by the ocean... somehow seeing the vastness of the ater reminds me of how deep and wide His love is for us and I am amazed.
