I think this is a question so many ask themselves and I just experienced a very powerful thing and wanted to share it! As I am preparing for my first speaking/worship engagement on March 14th... I have been working through somethings that have come up in effort to remove every that could hinder or take away from all the Lord intends for my talk. On Monday night I go to Ministry Training Class and this week our focus was "Hearing from God". A group of people come around 1 person and pray for them and ask what God is saying. It could be a thought, a scripture, a song, a word, a picture.... anything at all. I think at times we discount the way the Lord chooses to speak to us. We can have a thought or an impression and we so quickly shake it off as "random" or odd. In this case, we were encouraged to write down anything and everything that came to mind. Well I was the one they were praying for and I just have to say without getting too personal- it was amazing what God did through these people!! The comments, the pictures, the scriptures that were spoken were so personal to me and it was amazing to witness. Even oranges!! God can use oranges to speak to us. One girl saw an orange tree and there were oranges that were old and dying off and I thought of them as lost opportunities, but the Lord said- no I am going to bring new fresh fruit to those places. What was hilarious about this and some would claim coincidence ( which by the way is God choosing to remain anonymous in my opinion) is that I had been giving a 5 lbs bag of oranges the week before and I thought it was funny how I was eating an orange a day for the last 2 weeks. Anyway, the story goes into much more detail, but I just wanted to share a bit and let you know that God is speaking to us... we just need to still ourselves and listen. He wants to be involved in every detail of our life if we let Him in.
