Surprise!!!
So Oscar had said months ago that he wanted to plan a special birthday evening for me so I was looking forward to it. A week ago, he asked for the names and numbers of our babysitters and I asked him why. He said he was going to try to book for my birthday and I was like- What!? 1 week before? Why wouldn't you have planned this sooner than 1 week out? He said he hoped we could have a special evening out alone. My birthday came and he hadn't found a babysitter, so he asked my girlfriend Shannon to watch the kids. Thankfully she said yes and we were able to go out. We pulled into the mexican restaurant Puerto Vallarta and I asked- are we having dinner here? No. Oscar explained that we were going to have appetizers here, then dinner at a different restaurant and then dessert somewhere else. As we walked in, he mentioned that he had dropped off a special present for me earlier and I needed to close my eyes. I asked him to clarify and he just looked at me and said just please close your eyes and as he took my hand, I could feel him trembling... at that moment, we walked in the doorway of the banquet/group party room and SURPRISE!!!! 50 voices screamed out in front of me. With my eyes still closed and covered, I was shocked. In awe. How could they have planned this?!!! I had no idea. I opened my eyes and there in front of me were many of our friends, family, coworkers, worshippers, church family- how sweet a vision to look out and see nothing but love. Oscar had made plans and Shannon had helped arrange it and it was a total and complete surprise! It was such a blessing to have dinner with everyone and I got blessed with great company, lovely presents and yummy birthday cake! Oscar did an amazing job!
